APP PRIVACY POLICY
Pimple Tracker Privacy Policy
Pimple Tracker is an iPhone app for following an individual pimple or a small breakout area over time. You can name it, mark its location, add observation photos and change events, and follow it from first appearance to disappearance. Photos and records are stored locally on your device by default in the current version.
Summary: The App requires no account and integrates no advertising, analytics, or user-tracking service. Content is passed to a system feature or third-party destination only when you choose to save a photo to the system library or export an archive. Data handling when you visit this policy website is described under “Privacy policy page hosting.”
Scope
This policy applies to the Pimple Tracker iOS App developed and maintained by 长万.
It describes the current version's actual data-handling practices. Independent processing by services outside the App, such as Apple Photos, destinations selected in the system share sheet, and device backups, is governed by those providers' terms and privacy policies.
Data you create and store on your device
To create and review tracking archives, the App processes and stores content you choose to create locally on your device. The developer does not receive these archives from the App.
- Original photos you take with the camera and cropped derivatives used for display.
- A tracked item's name, facial location, coordinates, first-observed time, observation times, disappearance time, and lifecycle status.
- Events such as worsening, improvement, rupture, scabbing, and disappearance, together with notes you enter.
- Technical information needed to manage the archive, such as photo dimensions, file type, capture time, and framing area.
- Local preferences such as whether you completed the introduction.
Camera, photo analysis, and the system photo library
When you choose to capture an observation photo, the App requests camera access. Camera frames and photos may be processed on-device with Apple Vision and system imaging frameworks to detect a facial region for framing guidance and to create a cropped display derivative. This processing occurs on the device and does not send photos to the developer. The display crop does not replace the original photo.
Only when you choose to save a photo does the App request add-only Photos permission and write the selected photo to the system photo library. The App does not read or browse your photo library. You can manage camera and Photos permissions in iOS Settings. Apple may process information necessary to provide operating-system features under Apple's terms and privacy policy.
Exports and sharing
You can choose to generate a complete archive or an original-photo export. A complete archive may contain photos, cropped display derivatives, tracked-item metadata, dates, events, notes, and technical metadata. The App first creates the export in a temporary on-device directory and then presents the iOS share sheet.
You select the storage location, App, or recipient in the share sheet. Once you provide content to a third-party service or recipient, its further handling is governed by that party's terms and privacy policy. The App cleans up managed temporary export directories after sharing completes or is cancelled, when Settings is opened again, or when all local data is deleted. Copies you saved elsewhere are outside the App's control.
Network use, accounts, and third-party services
The current version provides no account, login, cloud sync, or developer backend API and makes no in-App network request to upload photos, tracking archives, or preferences. It integrates no third-party advertising, analytics, attribution, crash-reporting, payment, or user-tracking SDK.
Accordingly, the developer does not use the App to collect, sell, rent, or share your photos, tracking archives, device identifiers, or usage behavior with third parties, and does not use this information for advertising or cross-app or cross-site tracking.
Local storage, backups, and security
Tracking metadata is stored with iOS SwiftData in the App's local container. Photos are stored under the App's Application Support directory and use iOS file protection; the photo directory is marked as excluded from device backups. This data is also protected by the iOS app sandbox and device security mechanisms.
Whether some local database or preference data is included in iCloud Backup or device backups made with Finder or similar tools depends on your device and Apple backup settings. The developer cannot remotely access or delete copies in those backups.
Retention, deletion, and your controls
Tracking archives remain on your device until you delete related photos or records, choose “Delete All Local Data” in Settings, or uninstall the App. The App lets you correct names, locations, dates, events, erroneous photos, and ended status.
“Delete All Local Data” removes tracked items, observation photos, events, and history from the App database, cleans up photo files and temporary export directories managed by the App, and resets the introduction state. This cannot be undone. You must separately manage copies saved to Photos, Files, third-party services, other devices, or backups.
Sensitive content and automated processing
Close-up facial photos and notes you enter may contain sensitive personal information. Record only content you are willing to keep on your device or share deliberately, and confirm the recipient before exporting.
The App does not use your data for advertising profiles or automated decisions. On-device facial-region detection is used only for capture and framing assistance, not to identify you.
Privacy policy page hosting
This policy page is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. When you visit it, Cloudflare may process network logs such as your IP address, request time, and browser or device information to the extent necessary to provide network transmission, security, and operation. This information arises from visiting this web page and does not mean that the Pimple Tracker App transmits it.
Policy updates
If the App's features or data-handling practices change, we will update this policy and its effective date and, where appropriate, provide notice in App release notes or within the App. Before material changes take effect, we will meet applicable legal and platform requirements.
